Suncoast Acquisition

Hanson’s March acquisition of Suncoast Asphalt, a Brisbane-based independent asphalt producer and contractor, will provide Hanson with further expertise in asphalt and construction materials and complements our existing business.

Suncoast Asphalt and Alex Fraser businesses complement each other well. Suncoast Asphalt did a stellar job on the driveway at Alex Fraser’s Nudgee plant, and Alex Fraser is working to supply Suncoast with a high quality, ongoing recycled asphalt supply.

Suncoast is an impressive business, well known in
the marketplace. Its acquisition aligns well with our
strategy of investing in our future.

Suncoast Asphalt operates from a newly developed production plant at Narangba. It operates throughout south-east Queensland, servicing the local government, civil construction, residential development and utilities maintenance segments. They have a large and well maintained fleet of equipment, including the largest fleet of Flocon maintenance units in Brisbane.

With more than 20 years of experience, David Hill founded Suncoast Asphalt with the backing of a team that was experienced in all aspects of asphalting and focused on time delivery for every job.

“Suncoast Asphalt is committed to providing every client, from local shire councils to multi-nationals, the very best experience and results,” said David.

Peter Murphy, managing director of Alex Fraser, said he was enjoying meeting the Suncoast team.

“The Suncoast team set a new standard in the presentation of their workplace. With outstanding housekeeping right throughout the business they have one of the cleanest workplaces I’ve seen including a tidy fleet out on projects.”

After an extensive search Graeme Martin has been appointed to join Suncoast Asphalt as the new State Manager. Graeme is excited about joining the Suncoast team and brings years of experience in asphalt management and operations. Graeme will commence in June, reporting to Peter Murphy.

As Suncoast’s administration manager Chloe Hill prepares to take maternity leave, Alex Fraser has seconded Sarah Weller to support the Suncoast team through the transition.

“What passionate people. They consistently push each other to find an efficient way to get projects done with the resources they have, and are keen to learn at every opportunity. They’ll definitely make it happen,” said Peter.
