  • A $225 million public berth facility located at Finucane Island, Port Hedland.
  • It has an estimated annual capacity of around 18 million tonnes, including an additional 1.2 million tonnes annually in new bulk, general cargo and container trade.
  • Hanson supplied 2,600 cubic metres of 50MPa of premixed concrete for the project and 2,800 cubic metres of 60MPa of premixed concrete for the wharf’s precast sections.
  • The high-strength were critical in supporting the heavy industrial machinery located on the wharf, with most mixes also containing both caltite and silica fume to ensure adequate waterproofing.
  • Hanson’s technical team completed numerous trials mixes prior to the project, including tests at both 100 and 150-slumps.
