- The RGP5 project is valued at nearly $6 billion and has increased capacity across BHP Billion’s Western Australia Iron Ore operations by 50 million tonnes to 205 million tonnes per annum.
- Hanson’s mobile Yandi plant has provided a dedicated premixed concrete supply for the RGP5 since 2001, despite only originally securing a six-week contract.
- This includes an estimated 30,000 cubic metres of premixed concrete in 2009 and a further 30,000 cubic metres in 2010.
- A special wash-down facility was also built at the plant and which was widely acclaimed by BHP by capturing alkaline slurry, recycling water and making it easier for loaders remove waste materials.
