Ipswich Motorway Upgrade, Queensland Minimize
Customer: Abigroup
Construction Segment: Infrastructure
  • This eight-kilometre upgrade between Dinmore and Goonda in Queensland forms part of the $2 billion Ipwich Motorway Upgrade.
  • The project commenced in 2008, with Hanson’s Queensland business supplying aggregate materials after October 2009.
  • 400,000 tonnes of aggregates to be supplied by the 2012 estimated completion date.
  • They were used primarily to widen the motorway to a minimum of six lanes and for a significant upgrade of the Mine Street interchange to cater for the motorway’s predicted traffic increases.
  • The Origin Alliance Project features a large consortium, including the Queensland Department of Main Roads, Abigroup, Seymore Whyte, Fulton Hogan, Parsons Brinkerhoff and the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation (SMEC).
