Ipswich Motorway Upgrade
Ipswich Motorway Upgrade, Queensland
Customer: Abigroup
Construction Segment: Infrastructure
This eight-kilometre upgrade between Dinmore and Goonda in
Queensland
forms part of the $2 billion Ipwich Motorway Upgrade.
The project commenced in 2008, with Hanson’s
Queensland
business supplying aggregate materials after October 2009.
400,000 tonnes of aggregates to be supplied by the 2012 estimated completion date.
They were used primarily to widen the motorway to a minimum of six lanes and for a significant upgrade of the
Mine Street
interchange to cater for the motorway’s predicted traffic increases.
The Origin Alliance Project features a large consortium, including the Queensland Department of Main Roads, Abigroup, Seymore Whyte, Fulton Hogan, Parsons Brinkerhoff and the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation (SMEC).
