Alford's Point Bridge, Sydney Minimize
Customer: Abigroup
Construction Segment: Infrastructure

  • $42 million dual-lane bridge project developed by Abigroup in conjunction with the Roads and Traffic Authority.
  • Several concrete products were supplied, including 40, 50 and 60MPa ready mix concrete products, a B80 product and a 5MPa lean mix for its on-ramps and off-ramps.
  • All were supplied to the precise slump and tolerance levels required under the RTA’s stringent requirements.
  • Construction began in February 2007 and took eighteen months to complete. It included a permanent southbound lane which eliminated the need for a tidal flow arrangement that previously congested peak-hour traffic, two break-down lanes and a 3.3 metre pedestrian lane.
  • The project was considered a landmark development for the RTA and opened to motorists in August 2008.
